World Council of Optometry (WCO) defines Optometry as a health care profession that is autonomous, educated & regulated, and Optometrists are the primary healthcare practitioners of the eye and visual system who provide comprehensive vision care, which includes refraction & dispensing, detection / diagnosis and management of diseases in the eye and rehabilitation of the conditions of the visual system. Kerala Government Optometrists’ Association (GOAK) is a Government recognized service organization comprising all Optometrists working in Health Services Department, Medical Education Department, ESI, Ayuveda and Homeo Medical College Hospitals
